Declutter (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices when using the Declutter mobile app.
- Google account sign-in information needed to authenticate you when you choose Google Drive storage.

- Images or PDF scans you capture in the app.
- OCR-extracted text used to suggest category and filename.
- File metadata required to save documents to your selected destination.

- App events (for example: scan started/succeeded, upload started/succeeded/failed).

- App version, platform, and build environment metadata.
We use information to:
- Provide core app functionality (capture, OCR, categorization, save/upload).
- Save your files to your selected destination (Google Drive or on-device).
- Improve reliability and performance through analytics and crash diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot issues and support users.
3. Storage Destinations and Data Handling
- On-device storage: Files are saved locally on your device when you choose local storage.
- Google Drive storage: Files are uploaded to your Google Drive when you choose Google Drive and sign in.
- Temporary local files may be created during processing and are removed after successful upload where applicable.
4. Permissions We Request
- Camera: To capture document scans.
- Photo library access (where applicable): To select images when camera capture is unavailable or not used.
You can manage permissions in your device settings.
5. Third-Party Services
Declutter uses third-party services, including:
- Google Sign-In (authentication)
- Google Drive API (file upload when selected by user)
- Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics)
These providers may process data according to their own privacy policies.
6. Advertising
Declutter does not display in-app ads at this time.
If advertising is added in a future release, this policy and related store disclosures will be updated before or at launch of that change.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only as needed to provide app functionality and diagnostics through the services listed above.
8. Data Retention
Data retention depends on your chosen storage destination and third-party service retention policies.
Diagnostic and analytics data may be retained for service reliability and product improvement.
9. Children’s Privacy
Declutter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Your Choices
You can:
- Choose storage destination (on-device or Google Drive).
- Revoke camera or photo library permissions in device settings.
- Stop using the app at any time.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the effective date.
